The Kingdom-Driven Family

Building a Home That Serves Christ and His Kingdom

WHAT IS A KINGDOM-DRIVEN FAMILY?

The Christian life is about serving a purpose greater than ourselves. Scripture tells us that there is one thing that should be the primary focus of our lives — one vision given for us to fulfill.  This single mission serves as the goal for something so large as a nation, yet specific to individuals.

What we are to seek above all else is the Kingdom of God and His righteousness (Matt. 6:33) and to do the will of God on earth as it is in heaven (Matt 6:10). A vital governing institution for this mission is the family — in specific, the trustee family.

It is the Christian family that holds this great Kingdom mission “in trust” and instills this mission in its members. It is the Christian family that serves as the first church, state, workplace, and school in which children are prepared for godly dominion.

Therefore, Christian parents are called to establish Kingdom driven families; they are to build a home for God — a house that is dedicated to the service of the King and His Kingdom.

To aid in this calling, this website presents essays, interviews, and commentary geared to challenge and transform both the personal life and family life of those who are determined to pursue this very high calling.

ABOUT ME

Andrea hi res-3Hi!  I am Andrea Schwartz, and have been active in Christian education for over four decades, most importantly by successfully home educating all three of my children through high school.  I have served in advisory roles to Christian day schools, and have taught in co-op settings and as a private tutor. For the past couple of years, I have been a sought-after speaker for home school support groups and conventions and am always ready to make the case for Christian education wherever and whenever I am given the opportunity.

My ongoing work with the Chalcedon Foundation has allowed me to become well-versed in the application of God’s law-word over every area of life and thought.  I oversee the Chalcedon Teacher Training Institute (www.ctti.org) which mentors homeschooling mothers with the necessary tools to provide the best education possible for their children. I hold weekly classes to further engage them in the application of God’s law-word to every area of life and thought.

I have a number of books to my credit on the following subjects:

Homeschooling:  (Lesson Learned from Years of Homeschooling and The Homeschool Life).

The Biblical Family:  (The Biblical Trustee Family, Woman of the House, and A House for God)

Read-aloud children’s books:  Teach me While my Heart is Tender and Family Matters.

I have a weekly podcast (Out of the Question Podcast) and a months one (Chalcedon Podcast) that encourages me to read and research matters of importance to the Christian community and provide a biblical world and life view.

I have been married to my husband, Ford, for 48 years and continue to enjoy opportunities with my three children and my five grandchildren. I have many “other children” that the Lord has brought into my life through mentoring and those I’ve “adopted” through Christian fellowship.
