Sinner, Repent and Believe
The first song (Lamentation) identified the problem. This one presents the means to the relief that only Christ can bring.
I used to walk in the steps of this world,
Living a life filled with sin.
Though I was outwardly righteous to men,
I had a dead heart within.
Then was I told of the path I was on,
Judgment I was to receive.
I heard the one thing that I’d never done:
Sinner, repent and believe.
Sinner, repent and believe on the Lord;
Trusting in Him all the day.
Walk in His footsteps and never look back;
Jesus will show you the way.
I heard the words of forgiveness and grace;
I did not have but did need.
Praying for faith I asked I’d ever be
Trusting in Jesus to lead.
Now I do walk in the steps of the Lord;
Faithfully following Him.
My heart, though once dead, is now full of life;
Jesus is dwelling within.
Sinner, repent and believe on the Lord;
Trusting in Him all the day.
Walk in His footsteps and never look back;
Jesus will show you the way. (2x)
